Meet The Borgerdings

Our Story

Hi! We’re Conrad and Stephanie Borgerding! We hope our page gives you a little bit of an idea of who we are as individuals and parents. We’re sure what has brought you to be reading these kinds of letters has been an emotional and hard path. We respect that you are willing to put your trust in a family to give your child their best chance. We feel that we could be that family for a child placed with us. However, we want you to know that as we prepare to adopt a baby we also hope to develop relationships with the birth parents; to be a friend and a support to them in the best way we can.

Our journey together actually began in high school, in 2005. We quickly became best friends, as we were both involved in our church’s youth group and hung around the same groups of people. We did not seriously date until the end of our senior year. After 9 months, we became engaged and 3 months later we were married, in 2009. In total, we have been happily married for over 8 years. 

We both come from very kind, loving, and supportive parents who are so excited to have a new grandson/granddaughter to love on and spoil. Conrad is the oldest of 10 and Stephanie is the oldest of 3. Both of us were born and raised in Minnesota! We are currently living in Roy, Utah but travel home to see family as much as we can. We have 3 amazing dogs and a cat who bring a lot of love and joy to our family.

Life has thrown us a lot of curveballs but instead of letting the circumstances break us we allowed them to bring us closer together and we continue to come out stronger. Conrad was deployed in 2010, long distance relationships are not easy but we made an effort to set date nights every week that we were able to talk and keep up to date in each other’s lives. Our biggest challenge though was Steph’s cancer diagnosis, it really tested the “in sickness and in health” part of our vows. It was by far the hardest thing we have gone through but we continued to love and support each other through it all.

Cancer was devastating enough, but after finding out that it had taken our ability to conceive we had a hard time accepting that news. Our spirits were crushed, it felt like our dreams of a family were destroyed. We had to grieve that loss and find hope in the darkest part of our lives. We honestly couldn’t have come through this without our friends, family, and each other’s love and support. Conrad was amazing at helping us see the light that helped reveal all that we have rather than what we lost. He gave us hope and together we got through it.

Our faith is the foundation of who we are and how we live our life. Our relationship with God is a major factor in providing purpose to our life and is what helps us survive and make sense of the imperfect world we live in.  You must have faith in what you cannot see in order to understand your present life situation. We have faith that God will never let us down or abandon us when it seems that our life is crumbling. We can see God’s hand at work through all our suffering. God is our strength and has carried us through the best and the worst times. We can see how God has used our trials for his Glory! We can do all things through Christ who gives us strength!

We know that our children will be happy, as we will be consistent and loving when it comes to the expectations of the family, while making it a fun and safe environment. We know that we have a responsibility to each other as spouses, and have an equal duty to raise children in the right manner. We know that family is the most important thing in this world, and we plan on raising our family based on important values. We will instill principles of good living, safety, self-reliance, closeness, and laughter as we raise our family.

This is just a glimpse of who we are. We have been this honest with you because we want you to know what we are dealing with, so that you can place your child with the right people.
